MicroGuard® Goes Back to School at Georgia Tech

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - (May 25, 2011) — Adsil Corporation's patented coating, MicroGuard, made its way into several restroom facilities at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in December, 2010, as a trial phase for testing the unique sealant. After testing a variety of different coatings in the past, MicroGuard was given the chance to shine in three facilities where students from the university commonly gather.

"We prefer a product that seals the small tile areas around campus," said Tommy Little, assistant director of Building Services at Georgia Tech. "We maintain a high standard of cleanliness so our goal is to eliminate any chance of mold or mildew growth in our facilities."

A local certified MicroGuard distributor contacted Little about using the patented, inorganic, surface coating. They agreed to a trial application, where they applied the sealant to three restrooms around campus.

Five months after the initial installation, the product continues to perform well. While it remains unclear if MicroGuard will be used in the future on the Georgia Tech campus, the initial test was a success.
